About Leonora Leo photographer traveller
Photography has accompanied Leonora Aricò for as long as she can remember. What began as a childhood curiosity through travel gradually became a lifelong way of observing people, places, and the quiet relationships between them.
After studying at the University of Palermo, her path led her to São Paulo, Brazil, where she formally studied photography. There, she began documenting the work of a non-profit organisation, photographing families, communities and events. It was the beginning of a career centred not on subjects, but on people.
Back in Italy, Leonora worked alongside a fashion photographer in Palermo before moving to Milan, where her practice naturally expanded to weddings, portraiture and editorial commissions. Although the contexts have changed over the years, her focus has remained the same: every photograph begins with a person.
Since 2013, Leonora has worked as a professional photographer, leading productions that range from intimate portraits to exclusive celebrations and large-scale events. For the past four years, she has been part of Spazio ADA in Milan, a creative studio shared with professionals from different disciplines, where ideas, craftsmanship and collaboration shape her daily practice.
Her work is defined by an understated approach. Rather than directing every moment, she observes with patience, empathy and intention, allowing each story to unfold naturally. This sensitivity enables her to build genuine trust with the people she photographs, creating images that feel both deeply personal and quietly refined.
Over the years, her work has earned the trust of discerning private clients, creative professionals and respected colleagues alike. She believes the most enduring photographs are not the loudest ones, but those that continue to reveal something true each time they are seen.
Elegant. Poetic. Timeless.
